The National Weather Service's official temperature readings show it probably wouldn't have been a good time to take a walk at 3:00 Wednesday morning.
The official temperature sank to 27 degrees below zero. With a northwest wind at 13 miles an hour, the Wind Chill Index sunk to 52 below zero.
Both of those are certainly VERY cold figures, but with slightly lower-than-expected wind speeds, the Wind Chill Index did NOT hit 60 below zero.
