The Decorah Police Department reports that around 10:00 Monday morning a woman was sitting in her car parked in the North Alley along the side street near the businesses. A man approached the vehicle asked the woman inside for five dollars. The woman did not get out of her vehicle and did not give any money to the man.
A few minutes later, a second woman was attempting to go to work inside another business and was approached from behind by a white male who started grabbing her purse. The woman hung on to her purse and struck the man.
The male subject is described as being a young male in his late teens to early twenties, tall, skinny, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark skinny jeans.
