The Decorah Public Library has received a $2,200 donation in memory of Joey Headington of Decorah. The funds are designated for the renovation of a multipurpose classroom space that will be used for children's programming, continuing education events, after school programming for youth, and small group meetings.
Joey's parents, John and Barb (Hanson) Headington, reflected, "Joey was an avid reader. He enjoyed technology and loved children. We hope this donation will benefit the library and our next generation of learners."
Funds given in Joey's memory in prior years have been used for improvements to the children's area of the library, for children's programming, and to purchase educational tablets for children
