County officials agree to make changes in the new county UTV license form

Winneshiek County's new UTV ordinance will go into effect in 2019.  In the meantime, UTV owners are getting ready ot get a local permit to go along with the required DNR permit.

Now Winneshiek County officials are responding to complaints by local UTV owners and are making changes in the licensing permit form.

County supervisors say they've received  several complaints about questions on the permit form asking for someone's insurance policy number and details of what type of coverage they have.

Supervisors on Monday agreed there wasn't a good reason to ask for such information on the local UTV permit form.  Instead, people applying for a Winneshiek county UTV permit will be asked to check a box saying they have adequate insurance for their UTV.
