Decorah School District enrollment shows slight increase

On Monday night the Decorah Community School Board reviewed the Certified Enrollment for this year. The final tally is 1,691.18 compared to 1675.18 last year, an increase of 16 students.

The figures show fairly stable numbers for the last 8 years,with an enrollment in 2010 of 1720.40. The 2010 enrollment was the highest year of the last 8 years.

Of  particular note for Decorah Schools is the significant difference of "open enrolled in nonresident" (283.6) vs. "open enrolled out resident"  students (17.9). The figure  this year for open enrollment into Decorah Schools is the highest ever. While the district enrollment is deemed stable, it is very dependent on the continued positive trend of open enrollment.
