The Winneshiek County Auditor's Office has discovered that in the packets it sent to people who wanted to cast an absentee ballot a batch of return ballot envelopes were already sealed shut when the voters received them in the mail.
Many of these voters have already contacted the Auditor's office and received a new envelope. If any voter needs a new envelope, they should contact the Winneshiek County Auditor's Office by phone (563-382-5085), email (auditor@co.winneshiek.ia.us), or in person.
Says the Auditor's Office, "We are sorry for the inconvenience, and would be happy to get you a new envelope as quickly as possible."
