The first week of October has seen 1.64 inches of rain fall in Decorah. But that figure might be surpassed in just the next two days.
The National Weather Service La Crosse Office is predicting over two inches of rain through Wednesday. It is warning Winneshiek County residents that rises on some rivers and streams will occur, with the potential for flooding.
Forecasters say "scattered storms Tuesday afternoon and evening could become strong--potentially severe--mostly along and south of Interstate 90. Main threats would be damaging winds and localized flooding."
The La Crosse NWS Office is advising the public to continue to monitor the latest forecasts. If flooding is observed, move to higher ground.
