Public helps to capture a thief in Calmar

Earlier this month, the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office asked for the public's help in solving a case involving a burglary in Calmar.  The Sheriff's Office released a photo of the suspect.

Now comes word that a Postville man has been arrested on a warrant for identity theft and unauthorized use of credit card in connection with that case.  19-year-old Abdihakim Osman was taken into custody around 2:15 Thursday morning in Frankville.

Osman was arrested and taken to the Winneshiek County Jail.  The Sheriff's Office says Osman was the person who was identified in the surveillance video from the burglary in Calmar.  They are thanking everyone who assisted with the identification. 

Deputies say there are additional persons of interest, with more charges pending.
