Attempted murder charges have been filed against a Decorah man

A second criminal charge has been filed against one of the two men accused of assaulting a Freeport man on July 12th.

18-year-old Dalton Adam of Decorah now faces a charge of Attempted Murder in connection with an assault on 46-year-old David Hansen at Hansen's home on Old Stage Road.  The criminal complaint claims Adam "expected to set in motion a…chain of events which will cause or result in the death of David Hansen."  The charge is a Class B felony.  Adam had earlier been charged with Willful Injury, a Class C felony.

The second man arrested by police July 12th, 17-year-old Jacob Seelinger, has also been charged with attempted murder and with causing a willful injury.
