Ask Mr. Answer Person: When will city streets be painted?

Jason asks Mr. Answer Person: "When does the City plan on repainting the lines and crosswalks on the streets? It is very difficult to teach a begining driver how to drive with poor to no markings on the street."

Mr. Answer Person says: "Actually, it is very difficult to teach a beginning driver how to drive no matter WHAT the street looks like!  If you'll remember, Decorah got some terrible weather in April—a late snowstorm, followed by a 4-inch rainstorm.  That set back the Street Department, since it had to wait to send out the street sweeper to get rid of all the sand that accumulated over the winter.

But now we can pass along some good news, Jason—street painting in Decorah will begin on Monday.  Be sure to teach your new driver to drive on the right side of the center line!"
