Two people from Independence wind up in the Winneshiek County Jail

Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies and a Decorah Police officer were called out to Highway 52 just a few miles south of Decorah on Thursday afternoon.

When they arrived, they found a disturbance that was occurring in and around a vehicle on the side of the road.  41-year-old Louis Frye of Independence was arrested on a charge of domestic abuse assault.  However, the passenger in his car didn't fare any better--39-year-old Megan Larkin of Independence was arrested on a charge of 4th Degree Theft, a serious misdemeanor.

The two were taken to the Winneshiek County Jail.
