Winneshiek County Auditor Ben Steines says a petition has officially been filed to hold a recount on the May 1st Municipal Electric Utility referendum in the City of Decorah.
The recount board has been appointed. It will consist of Carly Hayden-Foster, the Luther College political science department member who is a member of the board of Decorah Power; Adrian Walter, who is the Director of Youth and Family Ministries at First Lutheran Church and a poll worker; and Mark Albers, a retired banker and long-time Decorah resident.
The recount will be held at 8:15 Friday morning in the Winneshiek County Courthouse. Observers are allowed, as long as they don't interfere with the process, and within the space availability of the facility.
