It's not surprising that commercial interests have come out in favor of a "No" vote. "Public utilities" evenly spread the cost of providing service to the whole community served. Alliant uses an "investor-owned utility" model and subsidizes significantly reduced commercial rates with higher residential rates. When you hear the management of companies in Decorah talk about representing their employees' best interests -- they're not -- not if those employees are residents of Decorah.
Decorah pays the highest rates for Alliant customers in the state of Iowa.
