The Kendallville Bridge has been damaged in a traffic accident.
The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office reports that 39-year-old Harvey Hershberger of Decorah was driving a semi tractor with trailer southbound on Highway 139 shortly before noon Monday when the trailer came unhitched from the semi. The trailer hit a guardrail, some signs and the bridge. There was an estimated $400,000 in damages to the bridge and the trailer. Hershberger was not injured. No tickets have been issued in connection with the accident.
A decorahnews.com reader tells us the bridge was "smashed on the west side."
