On Monday night the Decorah Community School Board passed, without comment from the public, the budget for 2018-19.
The budget of $30,620,495 is a decrease from the previous year, in part due to a "very adequate balance in the Management Levy." The budget also represents another decrease in the proposed tax rate (per $1,000 taxable valuation) from $14.16328 to $13.83292. The taxable valuation for the district increased by over $39,000,000 to $639,730,407.The district has also been aided by increased enrollment for this year, which increases state funding.
