Winneshiek County has a new Tourism Director

Ries Magnuson has been hired as the Winneshiek County Convention and Visitors Bureau Tourism Director.  Magnuson grew up in Winneshiek County, being home schooled and dual-enrolled in Decorah schools.

Magnuson graduated from Iowa State with a degree in animal science and microbiology. She worked at vet clinics and the lab while on campus. Magnuson says she was turned on to non-profits while working with an animal shelter and a YMCA in the Twin Cities.

"My husband and I were looking to move back to the area and the Tourism Director job gives us that opportunity.  I am adventurous and I am excited to bring the adventure of Winneshiek County to the world," shared Magnuson.
