Decorah's older aerial ladder fire truck is headed to Michigan

It's official.  The Decorah City Council has unanimously approved the sale of the city's older aerial ladder fire truck to the Farmington, Michigan fire department.

The city will be paid $80,000 for the truck.  Farmington had already placed a $9,000 deposit on the truck.

The old aerial ladder fire truck had issues with the ladder swivel.  Repairs have been made at Emergency Apparatus Maintenance, a firm in the Twin Cities.  Other repairs are now being made on the fire truck, but they are being paid by the fire department in Michigan--not by the Decorah Fire Department.
