Waukon man charged with Theft Fifth Degree

Decorah Police were called to Walmart on Wednesday shortly after noon to handle a dispute.

An unnamed woman reported that 51-year-old Wayne Burrett of Waukon took $20 cash she had accidentally left behind at a self-checkout register. Walmart staff confronted Burrett and he denied taking the money. Officers and Walmart staff identified Burrett and officers charged him with Theft Fifth Degree.
