Decorah firefighters called to an apartment fire overnight

The Decorah Fire Department was called to an upstairs apartment at 213 West Water Street around 12:45 Thursday morning. 

Upon arrival, firefighters found a pile of clothing smoldering on the floor near a bed.  The clothing was removed and the apartment was ventilated.  

No injuries were reported.  Damage was limited to the clothing and to smoke damage in the apartment and the hallway.

The Decorah Fire Department was assisted by the Decorah Police Department, Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office and Winneshiek Medical Center Paramedic Services.
