The Decorah City council has agreed to spend another $5,710 on the restoration of Dug Road Trail. The additional spending comes after a discussion with soil tech engineers and the contractor for the project, who recommended adding protection to the tile system that is being installed.
While the city council approved the $5,710 in additional spending, only $571 of that expense will be paid by the city -- 75 percent will be paid by FEMA and 15 percent will be paid by the State of Iowa.
