Oelwein man arrested for assaulting a woman in a Decorah hotel

The Decorah Police Department reports responding to a disturbance at the Fairfield Inn and Suites at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Hotel staff called the Decorah Police Department regarding a disturbance in progress at the hotel. Officers arrived and determined 31-year-old Anthony Marrah of Oelwein had assaulted a female guest.

Marrah had a warrant for parole violation out in Fayette County and officers arrested him on the property. In addition, officers determined Marrah injured the woman and they charged him with Class D felony counts of Willful Injury and Domestic Abuse Assault.
