Members of the Decorah Dog Park Fundraising Committee says they have almost reached their first fundraising goal.
The group has announced it has brought in $14,200 in donations to the dog park, which is proposed for property next to Walmart on Old Stage Road. The $14,200 in local donations will be matched with a $14,000 grant, which means the group is at $28,200 of its $30,000 goal.
Phase 1 includes all fencing, gates, picnic tables and signage for the park. Phase 2 will include shelters at the park.
Donations--made out to "Decorah Park & Rec Dog Park Fund," may be sent to Decorah Park & Recreation Dog Park, P.O. Box 513, Decorah, IA 52101
