Winneshiek Medical Center is now offering flu vaccinations at Decorah Clinic, Ossian Clinic and Mabel Clinic.
Regular and high-dose flu vaccines are available at any time with a clinic appointment, or by walking in and requesting a flu shot at Decorah Clinic (8:00 a.m.--4:30 p.m.), Ossian Clinic (7:30 a.m.--3:00 p.m.) or Mabel Clinic (7:30 a.m.--1:30 p.m.).
You may have your insurance billed, use Medicare Advantage plans, or you may choose to pre-pay $27 at the time of service.
The Centers for Disease Control recommends all people 6 months and older should receive the flu vaccine. The injection is the quadrivalent flu vaccine, which is designed to protect against four different flu viruses; two influenza A viruses and two influenza B viruses. No flu mist will be offered, based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control. A high-dose flu vaccine is available for people age 65 and older.
