A crew from Krause Konstruction of Coon Valley, Wisconsin has arrived to do some temporary repairs to the Winneshiek County Courthouse tower.
The company is being paid just under $10,000 to inspect the entire copper portion of the dome on the building. Crews will also repair loose and damaged copper as needed, then will re-caulk to ensure a water tight seal.
More permanent repairs to the Courthouse tower could be needed next year--depending upon what crew members find this week when they go up on the 180-foot boom truck ladder to get an up-close look at the condition of the tower.
