Officers from the Decorah Police Department and the Iowa State Patrol spent time Monday on the bike bridge over Highway 9 near the Highway 9/52 intersection to look for violations such as texting while driving and not using a seatbelt while driving.

Police say the enforcement project resulted in 73 traffic stops.  There were 30 citations issued for failure to use a seatbelt.  Another 15 warnings were issued for speeding, with four other drivers ticketed for speeding.  One ticket was written for texting while driving, while another three warnings were given.
