It's not just the Decorah School District that is having uncontested elections this September. There are seven spots on the election ballot for South Winneshiek, North Winneshiek and NICC -- and seven candidates will be on the September 12th ballot.
In North Winneshiek, Jon Wangness is the only candidate in District #1 and Myron Rediske is the only candidate in District #5. There is no announced candidate in District #2, so write-in votes will determine the outcome.
In South Winneshiek, the only contested school board election in the county is Arnold Kriener against Patricia Schissel in District #3. Wendy MIhm-Herold is the only candidate on the ballot in District #2 and Jenny Johnson is the only candidate in District #2.
Finally, in NICC District #2, which represents the South Winneshiek, Turkey Valley, Postville, Allamakee and Eastern Allamakee school districts, Kathy Gunderson is the only candidate on the ballot.
