Friends of Decorah Parks this summer has been continuing its mission of preserving the more than 300 acres of land in the Decorah Parks system.
The group has focused on trying to hold garlic mustard at bay, since the threat it poses is most immediate. Almost 50 volunteers this summer have put in many hours pulling out garlic mustard plants.
The group is now considering strategic spraying late in the fall when other plants have died down. It has also started a group called "Adopters," who are people who work on a specific area of the park system on a long-term basis.
