Posted: Tue, Jul 4, 2017 5:48 PM

Ten of the last twelve months in Decorah have been wetter than normal--but not June.

Decorah meteorologist Richard Bernatz says despite 1.79 inches of rain falling on June 28th, Decorah's precipitation in June was 6/10ths of an inch lower than the average of 4.69 inches of rainfall.  Nevertheless, Decorah's precipitation over the last 12 months is still more than 28 inches above average.

Bernatz says temperatures in Decorah in June averaged 69 degrees--one degree higher than normal.  The highest temperature in Decorah in June came on June 3rd, when the thermometer reached 92 degrees.  Two days earlier, the coldest temperature of the month--41 degrees--was registered.
