The North Winneshiek School Board has approved agreements to share three employees with the Decorah School District in the 2017-2018 school year.
The board Monday night approved a proposal to have art teacher Susan Heier and music teacher Alex Gisleson both teach 1.5 hours/week at West Side School.
The board also approved a proposal to have Decorah Operations and Maintenance Director Greg Schaller spend 20 percent of his time at North Winneshiek. North Winn will pay $16,258--20 percent of his salary and benefits.
North Winneshiek will get extra state aid payments because of the arrangement. It will be paid an extra $32,000 in state aid for the sharing of this position, meaning it will have a positive financial gain of over $15,000.
