The La Crosse Office of the National Weather Service says Fort Atkinson has received the heaviest rainfall over the past three days in Winneshiek County.
The NWS is out with three-day totals of rainfall from a series of storms that have raced through NE Iowa since Monday. It says Fort Atkinson has officially received 2.84 inches of rain in the three days. A rain gauge on the northeast edge of Calmar got 1.64 inches of rain, while Bluffton got 1.23 inches and a gauge five miles east-southeast of Decorah received 0.89 inches of rain.
While three inches of rain in three days is a heavy total, it's not the heaviest rainfall recorded in the NWS La Crosse service area--a spot in Winona county in Minnesota received almost 7 inches of rainfall.
