American Legion sponsoring poppy sales during May

American Legion Post #163 of Decorah will be sponsoring the sale of poppies during May, which has been set aside to recognize fallen warriors and raise funds to help pay the continuing needs of veterans.

Hospitalized and disabled veterans hand craft many of the red, crepe paper flowers. Making the poppies provides a financial and therapeutic benefit to the veterans, as well as a benefit to thousands of other veterans and their families through the donations collected.

Poppy displays are being set up locally at Agora Arts, Revelation, Pinters (downtown), KD Rae, Ace Kitchen, Ace Hardware, Margaret's, Ruby's, Hairloom, Donlon's, Decorah Tire, Magpie, Engen Express-Ridgeway, Family Table, VFW, Stone Hearth, Pizza Hut, Thompson Truck, Oneota Food Co-op, Haymarket, Fisk Farm & Home, Norby's and Ladybug Landscapes.
