


Someone has shot and killed a bald eagle in southern Winneshiek County.
Law enforcement officials say a dead bald eagle was recovered Friday from a road ditch four miles north of the Turkey Valley Community School.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact State Conservation Officer Brian Roffman at 563-380-0496. Roffman said people also can use the "Turn in Poachers" website at www.iowadnr.gov/tip or can call the hotline at 1-800-532-2020. Information can be left anonymously.
Bald eagles are a state and federally protected species.
