Associated Press and the Des Moines Register say Middle East refugees have resettled in Decorah and Postville

A report by Associated Press and the Des Moines Register says 1,387 former residents of the Muslim-majority countries targeted in President Donald Trump's travel ban have resettled in Iowa since 2007.

The report, based on federal government data, says the majority of those refugees—1,259—have resettled in the Des Moines area.  However, 128 have resettled in other communities, including Decorah, Postville and Oelwein.  No details have been given about the numbers of refugees in each of those communities.

The ban involved Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Iran.  Federal judges threw out the travel ban, saying it discriminated on the basis of religion, but the Trump Administration is expected to introduce a new travel ban late this week.
