The Northeast Iowa Community College Board has approved a $68.6 million budget for 2017-2018. The budget includes increases in tuition and fees per credit hour for the 2017-2018 academic year.
Beginning with fall semester 2017, in-state tuition will increase by $3 to $163 per credit hour. Out-of-state tuition will increase to $173 per credit hour. A new international student tuition will be set at $188 per credit hour. Student fees will increase by $3 to $22 per credit hour.
NICC officials say they were able to minimize the tuition increase impact to the students through continued expense controls, budget re-alignments and organizational restructuring that is increasing the efficiencies and re-positioning the College for sustainability and future growth. In addition, NICC projects increased in revenue through services provided by the Business and Community Solutions operation.
