It's January--normally not a busy year for tourism outside of ski hills. But Northeast Iowa will be flooded with tourists starting Friday--"Beer Tourists."
Toppling Goliath Brewing of Decorah is having another beer release--this time of its "Assassin" beer. Toppling Goliath's taproom on College Drive will be closed Thursday afternoon to prepare for the Friday release of the Assassin beer. It will reopen to the public at 4:30 p.m. Friday following the release. No one is allowed into the taproom during the day unless they have a ticket for the release event.
The beer tourists who have gotten tickets to the Assassin release are being urged to park downtown and take the short walk to the taproom. Cars parked in the Pyramid Plaza parking lot or in the parking lots of other West Side businesses will be towed.
In addition to the beer release at the taproom, Toppling Goliath has worked with several Northeast Iowa businesses to allow them to serve Assassin on tap on Friday. The Courtyard & Cellar, Rubaiyat and T-Bock's in Decorah, the Safe House Saloon in Lansing and Good Fellas in Waukon all will be serving Assassin beer on tap.
