The Decorah Police Department has just wrapped up a seven-day "Special Traffic Enforcement Program" (STEP), keyed to the Thanksgiving holiday.

The department says its officers arrested two drivers for drunk driving and another for a seat belt violation.  13 drivers were cited for speeding violations, while four drivers were ticketed for not having insurance.

Police say they made 18 narcotics arrests and had six canine/drug interdiction stops.

Seat belt use before the special enforcement was 84 percent--afterwards it was 90 percent.
