Letter to the Editor: Food Pantry appreciates your support

Thanksgiving:  giving thanks.  For a second year we are most grateful to area residents, organizations and businesses who have donated funds for the Farmers Market coupon program of First Lutheran Church's Food Pantry.

Beginning with the Winneshiek County Community Foundation, many churches, banks, retail stores, service groups and individuals have made it possible for hundreds of food-insecure households to access the nutrition and community spirit of Winneshiek Farmers Market.  Local fruits, vegetables, eggs, meat and honey have promoted good health and development for folks of all ages, thus strengthening the whole community.

Can you help us continue the effort in 2017 and beyond?  Please send your tax-deductible donation to First Lutheran Church, 604 West Broadway St., Decorah, writing "Farmers Market coupons" on the memo line.  And thanks again!
