Stray cats in Decorah area will get shelter

The Humane Society of Northeast Iowa (HSNEI) is giving away warm shelters for stray cats.

Thursday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. HSNEI will be distributing warm housing for stray cats on a first-come, first-served basis at the Love & Friendship Adoption Center at 2345 Millennium Road in Decorah.

Those picking up a shelter for stray or feral cats in their area will also receive a voucher to spay/neuter cats in their area. The expectation is for every "house" given away at least one cat will be altered to prevent reproduction. The houses are free, though donations are always appreciated.
