The Winneshiek Energy District has announced plans for the first Iowa/Midwest Energy District Conference in Decorah in December.
The two-day conference will run Thursday and Friday, December 8th and 9th. The first day's program will focus on the Energy District model: its roots in the Soil and Water Conservation District model, core elements, current replication in Northeast Iowa, and its role as the missing link in a local-state-federal clean energy transition partnership. The second day's program will focus on legislative options to universalize that partnership: language and components of potential authorizing legislation, place within existing Iowa state government, and linkages to federal efforts and agencies.
Registration and additional agenda information will be available shortly.
