Winneshiek County Democrats say they had nothing to do with Trump sign vandalism

The Winneshiek County Democratic Party has issued a public statement about the Trump for President sign that was defaced last week at the corner of Locust Road and College Drive:

"(We have) no responsibility for the recent defacement of political signs.  We do not condone vandalism in any circumstances. It is our hope that the remainder of the political season will be in the spirit of American democracy envisioned by the framers of the Constitution."

decorahnews.com has also learned that the local Democrats volunteered to replace the Trump sign or fix it--but were turned down by local Republicans.
