Decorah Bank & Trust, which has already donated $10,000 to the NEIACA Flood Fund, has now decided to make an additional donation of $645 on behalf of the Decorah Driftless Dodgers vintage baseball team, which raised money for flood relief Sunday by playing a game against Decorah firefighters.
The fundraiser was organized by Decorah resident Loyal Rue, who brought together the two teams. Decorah Bank & Trust loan officer Mike Huinker played for the Driftless Dodgers. "The game was a game of the heart, we wanted to help and we also wanted to bring smiles, what better way than with a ball game," stated Huinker, who says he continues to hear many nightmarish stories from those affected by flood waters.
The baseball game raised $1,355 in donations, but Decorah Bank decided to make another donation so that the baseball game raised $2,000.
