Unlike the start of last fiscal year at Winneshiek Medical Center, revenues for July 2016 were not robust, hospital officials are reporting.
July's gross patient revenues of $7.5 million at the hospital and clinics were $1.7 million unfavorable to budget--an 18 percent deficit. That deficit was eased somewhat by $221,000 in other operating revenue--primarily Electronic Health Record incentive monies and 340B Drug Program monies. That meant total net operating revenue at WMC in July was $4.2 million, which was 12.3 percent lower than last July.
Operating expenses totaled $4.37 million, which produced a net operating loss in July of $132,909.
The approved FY2017 operating budget forecasts a $1.8 million operating gain for the year, which is an operating margin of 3.1 percent.
