Margaret's Clothing Store supports local law enforcement

Margaret's Clothing store has recently been flying a new banner on its front window that says "We Support Local Law Enforcement."

The sign, made by SportsShop, is the second of its kind, after Margaret got the idea seeing the same sign in the window of Hammel Jewelers.

"We have a lot of people here that have friends and family in law enforcement," owner Margaret Walter said. "Nothing against anyone else, it's just for supporting our own."

Margaret said that feedback on the sign has been positive, especially during this week.

"With the floods, you know law enforcement has been out late, working hard," Walter said. "We just wanna show that we support the hard work that the police and Sheriff's department is doing. We've had a lot of people come in and say the same thing."

After 37 years, Walter will be turning over the ownership of Margaret's Clothing on Monday morning to Kelli Winchester of Des Moines.
