


Two contracts to replace bridges in Winneshiek County have drawn interest from area contractors.
The Iowa Department of Transportation has opened bids on a project to replace two box culverts on County A-14, getting bids from three companies. Iowa Bridge & Culvert bid $422,427.86; K Construction bid $406,828.83 and Brennan Construction of Lansing bid $321,637.50--the apparent low bid.
A project to replace a bridge over Pine Creek also drew three bids. Iowa Bridge & Culvert's bid was $531,716.65; Brennan Construction's bid was $427,834.95; and the apparent low bid from Minnowa Construction was $417,779.55.
The bids opened this week will be reviewed by both State of Iowa and Winneshiek County officials.
