(The following Letter to the Editor has been received from Dwight Jones of Waukon):
"I am not from Decorah, so most of you probably feel I don't have a right to an opinion, but I'm going to share it anyway.
Regarding the Hillary float from the recent Nordic Fest Parade--imagine if something similar had happened, but the float was anti-Trump. Imagine he had been a part of a recent legal controversy and had been cleared of criminal charges, but it was all extremely controversial.
Can you imagine Republicans acting this way? Can you? Personally, I cannot. Bringing so much attention to this act versus just laughing it off has provided the culprit a thousand times more anti-Hillary publicity than he could have ever dreamed.
Gary Rustad is a volunteer and I'm guessing he had his hands full that day versus doing a walk through of every single entry to make sure all was legit. Stop trying to make someone a scapegoat, move on and support whatever candidate you wish."
