The Decorah City Council has green-lighted a project to build a stone arch bridge in Dunnings Springs Park. The bridge will replace the current wooden bridge.
City officials Tuesday night announced a major donation to the project from both Deco Products and from Chris and Rhonda Storlie. Quandahl Construction of Decorah has submitted a bid of $75,195 to complete the bridge. Stone mason Ted Wilson will be involved in the work.
Decorah Parks & Recreation is using private donations and memorial funds to pay for the project.
The bridge will be "a wonderful addition," said city council member Steve Luse.
