The Raptor Resource Project has announced plans for a three-day "After The Fledge" event in Decorah starting Thursday, July 14th.
Events include a meet and greet, kayaking, bicycling, volunteering at the Humane Society of Northeast Iowa, speakers and demonstrations at the Fish Hatchery and at Luther's Valders Hall and a celebration dinner Saturday night.
The talks at the Decorah Fish Hatchery and Valders Hall are free and open to the public. At 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 16th, there will be a banding demonstration and talk at the hatchery. Three talks will be held at Valders Hall beginning at 2:00 p.m. Saturday: a presentation of the movie 'Mysteries of the Driftless,' a talk by Raptor Resource Project director John Howe and any board members that join him, and a presentation by Kay Neumann from SOAR that will include 'Decorah,' the last surviving fledgling from the 2014 season.
