Accident on Highway 52 does over $50,000 in damages

Police were called to Highway 52 just north of Decorah around 11:30 Thursday morning.  42-year-old Shawn Augustin of Hilltop, Minnesota was northbound on Highway 52 when he pulled out to pass 84-year-old Rose Hanson of Hawkeye.

Augustin saw an oncoming vehicle, so he pulled back into the northbound lane, but he hit the rear of Hanson's car.  The accident did $51,000 in damages.  One driver--which one was not disclosed by police--was transported to the hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.
