No 4th of July celebration in Decorah this year

The Decorah Rotary Club is taking a one-year break from hosting a 4th of July observance in Phelps Park. 

The organization says because July 4th falls on a Monday this year, creating a three-day holiday, it has decided not to hold its usual program of music and speeches at the park. 

The Rotary Club will decide at a later date whether to resume a 4th of July observance in 2017.
