Survey says, "Keep the Winneshiek County logo"

When Sarah e-mailed us to ask, ""What's up with the racist Indian logo on the Winneshiek County Highway trucks?," we replied that the logo was based on Chief Winneshiek, who used to live in the area.

We asked readers whether the logo ought to be dropped or kept.  99 readers sent in their opinions--and 81 of those replied "keep it."  That means 82 percent of those replying did not want to see the county drop the logo.

As we said when we posted our story Sunday night, this is an UNSCIENTIFIC survey.  However, the messages we got from readers showed that a number of people are passionate about keeping this Winneshiek County logo.
